NAFTA—to put it bluntly—was terrible for working families in the United States, as well as our allies to the north and south, Canada and Mexico. The terrible deal triggered job losses, closed auto factories, depressed wages and more power for corporations across all three countries.

Greetings:

The 31st Annual International UAW Chaplaincy Conference will be held at the Walter and May Reuther UAW Family Education Center, April 15-20, 2018.

Union members across the country wear red shirts on Wednesday to show solidarity and to make their voices heard by management in a small way. The practice was started by the Communication Workers of America who wear red on Thursdays in order to honor Gerry Hogan, a member who was killed while on the picket line. The practice has taken on even more significance with recent attacks on workers' rights by legislatures across the country.

The Women’s Global Leadership Program (WGLP) is a four-day program to be held next year in New York City from Thursday, March 15- Sunday, March 18. The program brings together women union and labor movement leaders and activists from across the United States to learn about the global economy and strengthen organizing and advocacy skills. Participants will develop tools and contacts to advance pro-worker, pro-women policies at the local, national and global level, and learn about strategies and mechanisms to strengthen organizing campaigns that involve multinational employers.
