Back in 2011, I was given the opportunity to become part of the GMCH team. I have met a lot of interesting, different people along the way which some are now considered my family. I have worked all three shifts in many of the departments. After almost two years, I was laid off and decided to pursue my degree in Business Management. I have now been back to work at GMCH going on three years as again a full-time temporary employee but decided I wanted to be a voice to be heard this time and get more involved.  I enthusiastically accepted the Guide position this past month with our Local 292 Union. I'm excited to see where this takes me.  I encourage everyone to get involved and take advantage of the opportunity of learning more about the UAW.  I am maybe now not just considered a temp. I will be allowed to hold my position as a Union Officer even if I get laid off which is an honor.  I appreciate everyone that helps support me and know that if you want something you should never give up.  As a single mother of three, I hope this is one thing I pass on to my kids.
